The 2021 Subaru Love Promise Community Commitment Award

We've been nationally recognized for our dedication to our community and the Subaru Love Promise.

We're honored to receive the 2021 Subaru Love Promise Community Commitment Award. This award nationally recognizes Subaru retailers who are making the world a better place while demonstrating an outstanding commitment to supporting passions and causes in local communities. These efforts are focused in important areas such as the environment, community, health, education, and pets.

What is the Subaru Love Promise?

Subaru and our retailers believe in making the world a better place and the Subaru Love Promise is our vision of respecting all people. This is our commitment to show love and respect to our customers and to work to make a positive impact in the world.

How is Williams Subaru of Sayre dedicated locally to the Love Promise?

A Pandemic Can’t Stop The Love - Jennifer K

The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank has seen an outpouring of support from the community that has been incredible. Thousands of generous individuals and companies have helped to Give Hope Now, but our work is far from over. The Food Bank has seen demand for food assistance increase more than 40% in the past year and expects demand to remain at these high levels for the next two years. With a “strong front” to combat hunger, the Food Bank and its more than 1,000 partner agencies and programs provided over 50 million meals this past year. But community support is what gets the job done - volunteering, donating and raising awareness all contribute to addressing food insecurity across Pennsylvania. Thank you Williams Subaru of Sayre for your generous donation of 39,302 meals to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. Together, we can end hunger.

Blankets for our Homeless Shelter - Katie R

We were thrilled to receive warm blankets from our Subaru dealer! Our homeless shelter has been operating over capacity this year and has been using local motels to house anyone in need. Having warm blankets on hand is very welcome for those we're serving. And something that we go through very quickly! We were glad to partner with Emily and get the blankets to those that need them most. Our Shelter Manager, Jacque, was thrilled to receive the blankets. And we were honored that our local TV station was able to come to the Shelter and cover this warm donation. Thank you!

In November 2020, Williams Subaru of Sayre donated blankets to Second Place East Homeless Shelter in Elmira, New York as part of the Subaru Loves To Help national campaign. These blankets will help keep residents warm while staying in the shelter, or help those outside of the shelter who still need warmth during the winter months.

Christmas Is For Kids - Irene R

This year, Williams Subaru of Sayre donated $1000 worth of bicycles to our local Christmas Is For Kids charity event. Every year we (local radio station WATS/WAVR) partner up with the local Salvation Army on the Saturday before Christmas to raise monetary and toy donations. We have a live remote broadcast in front our local movie theater and people, businesses and organizations stop by with their donations. These donations stay 100% local and will be distributed to families in need during this Christmas season. Williams Subaru showed up to our live remote broadcast event with a caravan of vehicles that were full of the bicycles; it was such an awesome sight to see!

Share The Love Retailer Donation - Maryanne B

In June 2020 we presented the Bradford County Humane Society with our retailer match for the Subaru Share The Love campaign. We donated an additional $2,529 to the animal shelter and helped promote the adoption of several animals throughout 2020.

The Generosity of Williams Subaru to BCHS - Cassidy E

Williams Subaru of Sayre and The Bradford County Humane Society have been friends and partners for more than a year now. They have helped so many animals from the shelter find their furrever homes with their promotional videos and posts on their Facebook page. They also donated monetary and pet supplies for our animals! We have brought so many animals to their Sayre dealership to get love and attention by everyone who works there. One of the dogs we brought in was a Jack Russell Terrier named Jackie who came into our shelter with huge bite wounds and special needs. She got so much attention from the Subaru employees and even left with a Subaru chew toy! Not even a week after she was at the dealership and their promotional video of her was posted, she was adopted and is doing well in her furrever home! They have been so great to us over this time and we are so thankful we have the opportunity to partner with them in the Subaru Share The Love Event. Everyone at the Bradford County Humane Society thanks everyone at Williams Subaru of Sayre for everything they do for us!

Providing Comfort to Patients - Valerie S

With the summer heat in Pennsylvania, most people are busy trying to find ways to cool off but patients undergoing chemotherapy can have side effects that make them feel cold no matter what time of year it is. LLS would like to thank Sayre Subaru for taking the time to help deliver blankets and messages of hope to the patients at Guthrie Cancer Center. The blankets not only brought warmth but also comfort to those in a time of difficulty. It really is the little things that help to bring light to people in need and we are grateful for the kindness and generosity of the staff at Sayre. It was our pleasure to help facilitate the deliveries and to coordinate sharing the Subaru love with local cancer patients.

Subaru Loves To Learn - Michelle M

Thank you to Subaru for fostering our students’ love of learning through their generous donation of the large collection of science-themed books. These award-winning titles will provide exciting opportunities for exploration and discovery and help to bridge the gap to careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics for our students. In addition, these new and exciting science resources will be invaluable to the students of H. Austin Snyder Elementary School. They will continue to enjoy reading the books covering topics including light waves, coral reefs, inventors, and science projects and activities. We appreciate Williams Subaru making these exceptional titles available to our elementary students.

Sherlock Got a New Start! - Maryanne B

Sherlock is an eight year old Blue Tick Hound who lost his family when they had to move to a retirement community. He came to Bradford County Humane Society last Spring and was initially adopted, but he was too grumpy to make it work. After that he worked hard to make friends at the Lazy Dog Golf Tournament, and Bark for Life but still did not get adopted! He was a good sport about it, though and was featured in a video with our friends from Subaru in one of their vehicles. After that video, where Patrick Whited made it obvious that the grumpy boy did not mind a few hugs, Sherlock was adopted by a loving family, and he is very happy indeed. Williams Subaru has sponsored several of our pet adoptions through their Farmer's Market events and they have been awesome partners for shelter animals!
